Dr. Raphael Putrus is a Specialist in Orthodontics. This means that in addition to his basic training as a general dentist, he spent three years after dental school doing a residency in orthodontics. He went to dental school and did his orthodontic residency at A.T. Still University of Health Sciences in Mesa, AZ. Because of his advanced specialty training, he is recognized by the American Association of Orthodontics as a specialist in orthodontics. Unlike other dentists who may offer braces along with other services, because of his advanced training and expertise, Dr. Putrus’ orthodontic office provides ONLY braces treatment.
In addition to a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree, he holds two master’s degrees: in public health (MPH) and health administration (MHA). His degree in public health gives him the skills to work with communities and groups to help them meet their orthodontic needs. His degree in health administration enables him to operate a well-managed practice that puts patient care at its focus.
Dr. Putrus is experienced in working with a variety of patients ranging in age from children to teens to adults. He is also trained in orthodontics for persons with special needs. He stays up to date on the latest methods of treatment and technologies by regularly attending continuing education courses in his field both in the United States and across the world.
Dr. Putrus is a big believer in giving back to the community. He is active in various charitable and volunteer activities both locally in Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne County, Michigan area as well as with international non-profit organizations.
